A Lesson from Winnie the Pooh

Lately God has been dealing with me on the topics of being a Winner, Living it, Stepping out in faith and believing that anything is POSSIBLE with God!

And then, today I saw this video over at Yahoo.


This man simply tells all of us that it doesn't matter what other people say. It doesn't matter what your incapabilities are. It doesn't matter if it's NBDB (Never Been Done Before). So long as you want to do it and choose to do it, with GOD, you surely can!

Here's what he got to say while explaining to China's Got Talent judges:

""For people like me, there were only two options. One was to abandon all dreams, which would lead to a quick, hopeless death. The other was to struggle without arms to live an outstanding life," and he chose the latter.

Now, what's stopping you to reach your dreams?

Resilience | Bounce Back!

After I saw A.R. Bernard in Asia Conference at Singapore, I haven't stopped patronizing him. I am one of the avid followers in twitter (@arbernard), retweeting them and shouting them out in Facebook. I don't think that was enough, I'm dedicating a post for him here in my blog.

Here's his latest tweet as of this writing:

"Resilience is the ability to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions or situations. It's an attribute of successful people."

Based on dictionary.com , Resilience is defined as "the power or ability to return to the original form, position, etc., after being bent, compressed, or stretched;"

And truly, he's not saying this because he'd read it somewhere. He's saying this because he himself experienced it.

A.R. Bernard, to start was an unwanted child. His father rejected his mother when he learned his mother got pregnant. His mother might have somewhat hated having him when she got kicked out of her scholarship because of her pregnancy. Thankfully the uncle who happens to be a pastor was kind enough to take them in and cared for them. Taught him and made him grow which served as solid foundations to whoever he is right now.

Who is he now?

Word of God: Key to Success

I was browsing through my Devotional Notebook and I read my devotional for 09/09/08 and once again I'm blessed with what God had spoken during that time. That's how amazing God's word is. It's not limited to that day or to that situation only. I encourage you to take notes of your devotions with the Lord and even during Worship Services. You'll never know when God can use those very words again in your life.

Today, I'd like to share my devotion on Joshua 1:8.

Joshua 1:8 (New International Version) "Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful."

When everybody is running after and looking (desperately) for ways how to be successful and prosperous in life, I turn to the Word of God. His WORD has the answers. His Word has the Key. His Word is THE KEY.

1. "Do not let the Book of the Law depart from your mouth."
- May every word that comes out from our mouths glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. May it be a fountain of blessings and not curses, forgiveness and not hatred. May we never engage in godless conversation where the usual topic is to to talk about other people's lives. May it be an avenue instead for our mouths to be used to share the good news to other people.
- Aside from that, whatever we say also represents what we have inside our hearts. (Matt. 12:34). Let's all have hearts that follow and obey the Book of the Law no matter what. Let's all fill it with love, humility and let us take out anger, bitterness, jealousy and hatred.

2. "Meditate on it Day and Night"
- Close and Open your day with the Word of God. Let's all make it a pre-requisite. Let's all make it a part of our daily routine. This is the secret in living a righteous life and in not letting the Book of the Law depart from your mouth.

3. Lastly, "Do Everything Written On it"
- Actions. Deeds. They speak far more than words. As James, the brother of Jesus had said, "Let's show our faith with our deeds. Without it, our faith is not true and dead.

What's the point?

All three points are preceding verses of this statement:

"SOyou shall be prosperous and successful!" (Joshua 1:8)

Point: In reality, when you're honest, with integrity, honorable, excellent and God fearing, then success and prosperity will run after you.

When the world says it takes skills and brains to succeed, I say it takes the WORD of GOD (Wisdom) to work in our lives, and through our lives to succeed.

The Power to be WEALTHY and RICH!

Deuteronomy 8:18 (New American Standard Bible)
"But you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth"

Reflection:

A lot of us are in search on how to make money especially in this time of recession. In fact "Make Money" is one of the most searched keyword in www.google.com with approximately 92 million search results. For some one job is no longer enough, they must try to look for sidelines after shift and sometimes during shift hours just to earn more.

Today, the Word of God says, "It is God who gives us the Power to make wealth". On other versions, it would say, "has given you the power to produce wealth". There's the end point to everyone's quest for more Money: God! He said in his Word [Philippinas 4:19]

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

I want you to focus on the word "riches". Our God is RICH! He's the richest God in the entire universe! In fact he owns everything! Today he's telling you, "I WANNA SHARE THESE WITH YOU!"

If you say, what's the catch?

Here's the catch: REMEMBER GOD! Remember him not just on Sundays and Prayer Meetings. He's saying Remember him whenever and wherever you are. I've discussed this in detail here: Remember not to Forget. But to summarize everything, let me leave you a Word from Joshua 1:8,

"Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful."
